TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man has been arrested following an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor, according to police. Perry Ransford, 74, is facing multiple charges. The investigation leading to the arrest took place over the last several months, yielding that Ransford allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a 13-year-old victim back in February. The original incident reportedly occurred in Ransford's 6th Avenue apartment in Troy. Police say that the victim was a visitor to Ransford's residence, but the two did not have an existing relationship. WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita Police Department has arrested a 31-year-old man from Florissant, Missouri, in connection to the shooting at an Old Town nightclub early Sunday morning.Police say the Missouri man is being held on two counts of aggravated battery. However, there were nine shooting victims from the incident at City Nightz in the 200 block of N. Washington. Two other victims were injured from being trampled in the chaos.The WPD says the shooting injuries range from minor to critical, but all victims are expected to survive. The annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival showcases more than 250 juried artists from around the world during the Fourth of July holiday weekend in Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood. Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday, Jefferson County officials on Monday lifted restrictions that previously limited recreational water activities on Clear Creek due to safety concerns.Activities previously prohibited by order, including all single-chambered, air-inflated devices such as belly boats, inner tubes and single-chambered rafts, as well as “body-surfers” and swimming, are now welcome back on the waterway.According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, water flow has decreased from the creek’s peak, but all users are encouraged to be cautious when recreating on the waterway.The restriction order, issued on June 1, extended from Jefferson County’s western border at Colorado 119 through the limits of Golden to Vanover Park. The Spring Creek fire, burning southwest of Parachute, grew by just seven acres overnight Sunday and is up to 37% containment, but challenges keeping the blaze at bay loom.According to an update Monday from fire officials, the Spring Creek fire was measured at 2,932 acres as 539 firefighters continue to fight it. An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death in Palmdale early Monday morning.The attack was reported about 4:45 a.m., when deputies responded to the intersection of 75th Street and Avenue Q, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Authorities initially indicated the shooting occurred at Avenue W, but later clarified it was Avenue Q.There, they found an adult man who'd been shot at least one time. Police are investigating after a short pursuit and a shooting led to at least one person being killed in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles Sunday night. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the area of 8th and Park View streets around 9:40 p.m. on reports of a shooting, LAPD told KTLA. At the scene, police found a gunshot victim, later identified as 25-years-old Miguel Velasquez. He was declared dead at the scene.According to police, Velasquez had been standing on a sidewalk in the area when two men approached, a verbal argument began and one of the men pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.The two men then fled on scooters, police said, adding that they believe the attack was gang-related.Police also said that a short pursuit was initiated, lasting all of a minute.
