A Toronto man was arrested and charged with the alleged sexual assault of a victim after they agreed to go on a date with him.Toronto police responded to a sexual assault call on April 28 just after 7:30 a.m. in the Church Street and Charles Street East area in the Church-Wellesley neighbourhood.It’s alleged that the accused and the victim met at a park a day earlier, where the pair arranged a date.Police said the victim agreed to meet in a public place, but the man instructed them to meet at his residence. It’s alleged the accused then sexually assaulted the victim, who was then driven home by the man.Authorities arrested and charged 29-year-old Wang Li of Toronto with sexual assault. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine wants other countries to heed its warning that Russia may be planning to attack an occupied nuclear power plant to cause a radiation disaster, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.Members of his government briefed international representatives on the possible threat to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, whose six reactors have been shut down for months. Zelenskyy said that he expected other nations to “give appropriate signals and exert pressure” on Moscow. “Our principle is simple: The world must know what the occupier is preparing. HARVEY, Ill. — A man confessed to shooting and burying his boyfriend in a Harvey yard and the body was subsequently found, police said.At around 3:10 p.m., Harvey police detained Marquis Johnson, 26, for an outstanding warrant in Chicago.While in custody, police said Johnson confessed to shooting and burying his then-boyfriend in the yard of an abandoned residence in the 15800 block of Myrtle Avenue.At the aforementioned address, authorities recovered the body of an unidentified man.Harvey police and Illinois State Police recovered the weapon believed to be used. CHICAGO -- Interim CPD Supt. Fred Waller is expected to discuss plans to tackle weekend violence ahead of the Chicago Pride Parade set to take place Sunday. As businesses and locals gear up for one of the biggest events this weekend, police are getting ready to discuss their safety plans for the upcoming Pride parade that is expected to round up about one million people, based on years in the past. Last weekend, 75 people were shot with 13 fatalities in the city of Chicago. Ahead of the following weekend, police have responded to eight people shot overnight. CHICAGO -- A Motorcyclist is dead after crash that took place on Sheridan Road in Rogers Park Thursday night. According to police, the crash took place around the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road around 9:15 p.m. when the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man was found unresponsive. Interim Supt. PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN)-- "Findings were related to neglectful supervision, sexual abuse, and physical abuse that were perpetrated by foster parents and household members with victims ranging in age from 2 years old to 16 years old." That's an excerpt from a letter of intent from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) sent to Lonestar Social Services (LSS), earlier this month. KXAN got a copy of the letter, which notified LSS that HHSC plans to revoke their permit to be a child-placing agency. The letter follows another one sent by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services in April, terminating the department's contract with LSS due to other violations, according to that letter. It also comes as the HHSC office of inspector general investigates LSS.
